A brief biography of our language assistant (Breve biografía de nuestra auxiliar de conversación.)

Laila Rashid was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She recently graduated from UC Riverside, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English. While at the university, Laila was involved in many student organizations, helped freshmen transition to college life, and worked as a writer for the school’s website. Laila applied to the North American Language  and Culture Assistants program in order to learn about another culture, improve her Spanish language skills, and continue her love for teaching and working with students. Although she has visited Europe before, this is her first time traveling to Spain. In the future, she hopes to become an attorney, write a novel, and travel more abroad.
